In a new departure for the UK payments industry...
As a leading regional accountancy firm, Albert Goodman is a significant presence in the South West with 240 staff across its offices in Taunton, Yeovil, Chard, Weston-super-Mare, Weymouth, Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea and Wedmore. The firm, which still carries the name of its original founder in 1866 is well respected with a distinguished heritage of almost 150 years: Albert Goodman was one of the very first members of the ICAEW. To strengthen its presence in North Somerset, Albert Goodman has recently expanded to merge with T P Lewis & Partners.
The firm remains a member of the ICAEW providing a full service accountancy, tax, financial planning and business services: providing solutions to ‘your business, you and your family’. In keeping with the region, Albert Goodman has significant agricultural accounting expertise and has an office at the Sedgemoor [Agricultural] Auction Centre at Junction 24 of the M5, the largest livestock market in the South West. It also one of the only firms in the South West to offer a comprehensive corporate finance service to small businesses.
The firm plays a full and active role in supporting its community. Since 2010 Albert Goodman has been main sponsor of the Somerset Business Awards which recognise and celebrate business success across the County of Somerset. In recent years the awards have become one of the most important and popular fixtures on the County’s business calendar. And, since 2013 the firm has participated in the pilot Family Business Growth Programme, assisting family businesses and farms within the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) region.
Michael Evans, Payroll Manager of Albert Goodman’s payroll team of 6 dedicated payroll specialists operating over 500 payrolls said,
“Payments might be relatively straightforward but payment permissions are anything but. CreDec’s ability to automate complex security permissions – allows us to give our clients whatever payment sign off arrangements they demand.
We really value their flexibility … the rigour of their checking processes behind the scenes and their security measures”
